A leader in diagnostic and interventional radiology, Benson Radiology Gawler is known for looking after South Australian patients. When they needed additional space for imaging services and facilities, they purchased a heritage property next door — a project that demanded the expertise of JAG Homes Gawler and Inception Design to get it right.

“The challenge was converting the heritage building into something functional, while staying sympathetic to the heritage form,” says Carly Scheepens, Director of Inception Design.

It was important to create synergy between the existing and heritage buildings, which Carly did using sky windows and raised ceilings to create good lighting in the internal areas.

A range of tailored ADX products enabled the team to solve the challenge of fitting the heritage building. “The original stone walls had varying thicknesses, so we made up aluminium door frames after walls were lined,” Craig from ADX says.

The final result of these teams working together is a fully-functional addition to Benson Radiology Gawler, which has increased their ability to continue providing the highest quality imaging services and patient care to South Australians.
