Mastabase Longset - 20kg Bag is a plaster based cement for bedding tape into recessed edges and butt joints. It is also suitable for second coating plasterboard joints, internal and external angles and fastener heads. MastaLongset has an extended working time of 65 minutes with an 80 minute bucket set, making it particularly suitable for mechanical tools and ideally suited to larger jobs. All Knauf jointing and finishing compounds can be used over MastaLongset as a final coat.
- Free flowing
- Smooth edges
- Easy to re-trowel
Mixes to a smooth, creamy consistency by hand or electric mixer.
Very easy to trowel for both hand and mechanical tools, and has great body on the trowel and on the hawk.
Longer working time reduces frequency of mixes, resulting in more metres covered and less wastage.
Plenty of time to obtain good thin edges when feathering and re-trowelling as it does not dry out too fast.
A hard setting cement providing the strongest joint when used with paper tape.
Low VOC meeting sustainable building project requirements.
MastaLongset is suitable for first and second coating on all internal lining applications, including fire rated and wet areas. Must not be applied over air drying compounds. Always use clean tools and containers. Pour the required amount of clean tap water into a container. Add the powder into water, mixing continuously to a thick, creamy consistency. Soaking is not recommended. Only mix enough cement to be used in 65 minutes, and do not contaminate with previously mixed batches. Once the material starts to set it cannot be remixed. Knauf strongly recommends the use of paper tape for jointing. Where fi breglass tape is used, the joint must be back-blocked with MastaBlock. Fibreglass tape must not be used in fire rated and wet area applications. Allow MastaLongset to set completely between coats.
Optimise product performance by: Storing in a dry, well ventilated environment fully protected from the weather. Washing tools before product dries and hardens. Ensuring MastaLongset does not dry out before setting has taken place under severe hot dry conditions.
